Ahmed S Iraq

Ahmed S. is a Kurdish refugee in his twenties who arrived in the UK two years ago and claimed asylum. He had set out alone across Europe from Iran, having previously left Iraq with his family following the first Gulf War. He speaks five languages. He studies at college, and volunteers in Kurdish Community Centre, and earns money doing car washing and pizza deliveries. He lives with a white English family in Hillsborough, but visits Burngreave on an almost daily basis to see his friends in the Kurdish community.

Recent news: Ahmed has now moved out of the UK and is making a new life for himself in Belguim.
